What we collect
- Your email, the program and test date you enter, your answers and scores.
- Your order: plan, price, date. Stripe takes your card. We never see the card number.
- Where you came from: if you arrive from an ad or a link, its tags (for example Google's click id and the campaign name) are kept with your answers and order, so we know which ad worked.
- How our pages are used: visits, pages, clicks and scrolls. On some visits we record the session (clicks, scrolls and page movement) to see where pages confuse people. Anything you type is hidden from the recording.
Our analytics runs on our own server. Two ad tags:
- The Meta pixel (Facebook, Instagram) records which of our pages you reached (seeing the plans, starting checkout, finishing the free check), so Meta can show you our ads again and we know which ads lead to a purchase. People who bought are left out. Meta may set cookies for this (facebook.com/privacy/policies/cookies). Purchases are also sent from our server to Meta, your email hashed, never in plain text.
- The Google tag (Google Ads) records which of our pages you reached: seeing the plans, starting checkout, finishing the free check. Google uses it to show you our ads again, with words for the step you stopped at (remarketing). People who bought are left out. Google may set cookies for this (policies.google.com/technologies/ads). Purchases reach Google from our server, matched to the ad click only.
We never sell your data. Showing you our own ads again counts as "sharing" under California law, so you can turn it off: turn off ad tags on this browser (turn back on). A browser that sends Global Privacy Control gets no ad tags at all. You can also change your Meta ad preferences and turn off personalised ads in your Google ad settings.
Emails we send
- Your score, right after the free check (1 email).
- If you stop partway: up to 2 reminders that your questions are saved.
- If you start checkout but don't finish: up to 2 reminders.
- Your free check report and study tips after it, until you buy: up to 7 over about 2 weeks, or timed to your test date if you gave one.
- If you buy: your plan link, then 2 tips on getting started.
- If you ask for your link again: 1 email with it.
Every reminder and tip has a one-click unsubscribe link. Or reply "stop" and we take you off every list.
Who sees it
Cloudflare (hosting and database), Stripe (payments), Resend (sends our emails), Meta (the steps you reached, for our own ads; purchases from ad clicks), Google Ads (the steps you reached, for our own ads; purchases from ad clicks). No one else.
How long, and deleting it
We keep your data while you use the service. Email support@thenextcohort.com with your order number or the email you used and we delete it within 30 days. Minors: this service is for adults and people 16+ applying to programs; if you are under 16, ask a parent first.
Do Not Track: browsers' Do Not Track setting has no agreed meaning, so we don't act on it; Global Privacy Control turns our ad tags off (above). When this page changes, the date at the top changes.
Who we are
